My name is Patrick Salami; I am a Software Engineer from San Diego, CA. I specialize in building Web 2.0 applications and I enjoy using the latest and greatest development tools and design trends. My specialty is in Hadoop and related technologies, noSQL, large-scale distributed systems, Java and PHP/MySQL development, consumer-oriented user interfaces, intranet sites, and backends.
Over the last 10 years, I have contributed to a number of projects that have greatly enhanced productivity for many individuals, businesses, and academic institutions. The focus of my web development is the creation of large-scale distributed data processing systems, high-traffic consumer-facing Internet properties, as well as enterprise B2B software. I have started, led, as well as contributed to projects that are intended for a broad audience, as well as others that are intended to be used by only a handful of administrators.
From 2004 to 2007, I have acted as founder and President of Entity Communications, LLC, a San Diego-based web hosting firm which was later acquired by Los Angeles-based Globat, Inc. I have overseen the acquisition and fulfilment of numerous web hosting contracts for a broad range of customers. In the course of my duties, I was responsible for overseeing a team of engineers, sales and customer service representatives, as well as system administrators and technicians to ensure the proper deployment and continuous availability of our customers’ online services.
Further, I have contributed to top-100 web sites such as video sharing site Veoh and led the end-to-end development of several other large-scale web sites such as comparison shopping engine Extrabux.
